Narrative
TULSA, OK – Two people died, and a third person was hurt Wednesday after a two-vehicle collision involving a semi and a UPS truck in east Tulsa.
The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-44 near 165th East Avenue, which is south of the Tulsa Stockyards and southeast of Tulsa International Airport.
Police say that two people in an 18-wheeler died after the truck crashed into the rear of a stalled UPS truck on the interstate.
The victims have not yet been identified.
Medics transported the UPS driver to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Officials closed I-44 in the area of the collision while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
