Narrative
CHOUTEAU, OK – Both a 37-year-old man and a 27-year-old man died Thursday in a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian in southwest Mayes County.
The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the end of a police chase along Main Street in Chouteau.
Authorities say they were pursuing a man driving a Yamaha motorcycle when he evaded police and ultimately struck a pedestrian on Main Street.
Both the biker, identified as Brent Maner, and the pedestrian, identified as John Farmer, were pronounced deceased at this scene. The motorcyclist was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the accident.
Police have not yet commented on the reason for the pursuit.
