Narrative

LAWTON, OK – A 67-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries last Wednesday afternoon in a Comanche County pedestrian crash.

The accident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. on 2nd Street between Northwest Bell Avenue and Columbia Avenue. This is on the northeast side of Lawton, which is about 87 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.

Police say a vehicle struck and injured a pedestrian along 2nd Street. The victim, identified as Debra Pennington, died after transport to an area hospital.

There’s no word yet regarding the driver involved in the crash.

Officials closed 2nd Street near the site of the accident while crews attended to the victim and worked to clear the scene.
