Narrative

CANADIAN CO., OK – A police deputy from Canadian County was hospitalized after a vehicle struck him during a traffic stop on the shoulder of I-40 in Yukon.

The accident happened in the morning near the intersection of I-40 and Garth Brooks Boulevard, which is just north of Lowe’s Home Improvement.

Police say that a vehicle struck a deputy and his pickup truck while the officer was conducting a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger.

The deputy sustained non-critical injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was also hurt in the crash and went to the hospital. The severity of the their injuries is unknown.

Authorities say that the liable driver may have been fatigued at the time of the accident.
